[amazon_link id=”0593074629″ target=”_blank” ]Shopaholic To The Rescue[/amazon_link]Sophie Kinsella is back with a new book called ’Shopaholic To The Rescue’.

To Las Vegas . . . and beyond! Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood) is on a major rescue mission! Hollywood was full of surprises, and now she’s on a road trip to Las Vegas to help her friends and family. She’s determined to get to the bottom of why her dad has mysteriously disappeared, help her best friend Suze and even bond with long-time enemy Alicia Bitch Long-legs (maybe…). As Becky discovers just how much her friends and family need help, she comes up with her biggest, boldest, most brilliant plan yet! So can she save the day just when they need her most?

In the latest instalment of the ’Shopaholic’ series, we continue where ’Shopaholic To The Stars’ left off, where her father and her best friend’s Suze’s husband Tarquin have suddenly gone missing on a secret mission and with no explanation leaving everyone behind confused and fearing for their safety.

With the aid of Luke, Minnie, Suze, Becky’s mum, her mum’s best friend Janice and Becky’s enemy Alicia Bitch Long Legs, the eccentric group find themselves on a random adventure across the West Coast of America in a RV van, whilst trying to piece the pieces of Becky’s father’s past, touring the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas and country fairs, Becky discovers that she has lost her shopping mojo and instead has become embroiled in a moral dilemma,

Not only burdened with her father’s disappearance, Becky has to deal with seeing her best friend cosy up to her enemy, Alicia and Becky is left feeling alone and out of sorts as she makes new discoveries along the way. In true ‘Shopaholic’ style, this journey is never smooth and the group find themselves in surprising circumstances resulting in hilarious and sometimes occasionally, poignant and tender moments.

I’ve always enjoyed the ‘Shopaholic’ series, sometimes I enjoyed some books more than others and with ‘Shopaholic To The Rescue’ this was definitely the case, I felt in a way, that Becky had matured and discovered there was more to life than shopping and just how important and fulfilling family and friend are. As Becky went on a discovery for her father and Tarquin, she was also on her quiet, journey of self discovery and I thought this made for quiet sweet reading.

Filled with mishaps, sweet Minnie moments and crazy Becky moments, ’Shopaholic To The Rescue’ is an exciting and amusing tale that flows at a nice and leisurely pace.
