Merry Christmas From Handwritten Girl

Christmas WishesChristmas is nearly upon us and I’ve found myself writing my annual sign off instead of wrapping presents that are still in their bags. Last minute as always!

This year was a great year for books. There was the return of some of our well loved authors such as Marian Keyes and Sophie Kinsella as well as David Nicholls returning with his highly acclaimed ‘Us’. The calibre of debuts were strong with ‘What Milo Saw’ and ‘The Dead Wife’s Handbook’ and Jamie Dornan was cast as Christian Grey in the eagerly anticipated adaption of ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’

It was also a great year for Handwritten Girl, as I ventured across the water three times during the year and met the people that have made my reviewing experience worthwhile and met some of my all time favourite authors.

As I am based in Northern Ireland, I miss out on the opportunity to attend book launches and various literary events, so I decided this year to organise my own adventures and that’s how Handwritten Girl Tours (#HWGTour) came about.

I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who the took time out of their busy schedules to meet me. Thank you to Jane Fallon, Adele Parks, Lisa Jewell and Stella Newman, for giving up valuable writing time to meet me, as well as both Alexandra Brown and Ali Harris for inviting me to their book launches in such luxurious surroundings and finally thank you to Penguin Books for a lovely Christmas drinks evening where I got to meet Lucy Robinson, Jojo Moyes and Giovanna Fletcher.

I would also like to thank you. The readers of the website for taking the time to read a review, tweet, Favourite or Like a post, your support is appreciated tremendously. I hope you all have a safe and relaxing Christmas and receive loads of treats from Santa Claus, especially books as there are some great ones out there.

Have a happy new year and I shall see you in 2015.
