This is the first book that I’ve read by Luca and it was a great introduction to a new author for me.

The story is seen through multiple narratives and written in the past and present tense as Sam copes with the sudden death of his father that leads him to America and face the truth, that his mother isn’t actually dead but infact she’s on the run from an old boyfriend who’s determined to get her back. The past tenses are seen through Laurie’s narrative, who is Sam’s mum and it’s about her meeting Anthony and trying to escape his clutches.

The story is a typically great thriller, all the hooks to grab the readers attention and keep them engaged throughout the book. Sam is a great lead, he’s just a normal man leading a normal life in England and suddenly he finds himself in America, fleeing for his life as Anthony’s men are convinced that he’ll lead them to Laurie even though Sam is convinced she’s died. Packed out shootouts, intensity, this high octane was not only a literal stimulation but also visionally. Luca’s writing is descriptive and in parts, I also felt I was on the run.

‘You Never Said Goodbye’ is a gripping, fasted paced and exhilarating thriller packed with drama, intensity and fantastically great conclusion!
