Gina married Rex six months after meeting him, passionately in love with him, she feels like the luckiest girl in the world. Until one day Rex vanishes without a trace and suddenly one day Gina’s dream life has been turned into a nightmare. Gina never wavers in her belief that Rex is alive and that she will find him. When her frantic search unearths troubling secrets about Rex, Gina begins to wonder how well she knows Rex but sometimes when all seems lost, unexpected and wonderful things are found.
‘Husband, Missing’ is quite the intriguing read that had me captivated from the beginning. Gina as the lead character was great, right away we are introduced to the moment where her world was turned upside down. Thinking that her life was finally going somewhere, she has found happiness with Rex but when Rex goes on an holiday with his brother and friends, he suddenly disappears and Gina is suddenly left to wonder, did she really know her husband at all. As time passes and faith grows low, she realises that things were not as they seem as old friends and acquaintances come out of the woodwork with interesting tales about her seemingly perfect husband. With the aid of Jake, Rex’s brother and her best friends Lucy and Femi and family, Gina manages to carry on with as normal a life as possible. Gina is a strong independent and extremely likeable character, we see the story through her eyes as she struggles with mixed emotions and situations and this can make for interesting and heartwarming scenes.
‘Husband, Missing’ is a cleverly written and moving story that will have you hooked from the very beginning, filled with complex characters and scenarios, this story is definately a thinker and will have you turning the pages into the early hours.
