[amazon_link id=”0008168156″ target=”_blank” ]The Teacher[/amazon_link]I’m excited to be part of the book tour for Katerina Diamond’s new book, ‘The Teacher’. On the tour today, I am hosting the seventh instalment of ‘Stalker’s’, a short story that features Adrian and Imogen from ‘The Teacher’and is being hosted over other websites during the tour.

STALKERS – Part 7

Being wrong was not something that sat particularly well with Imogen. Not that it never happened, but when it did there was always a part of her that knew it was a possibility. Everything about Miles neighbour Lucy was setting off alarm bells in Imogen. It was possible of course that she was being stalked but Imogen doubted it. She had asked Miles to send her the photo of Lucy sleeping, see if she could find out anything about it. They had already asked the phone provider for records and the picture had come from a pay as you go phone bought in the city centre months earlier with cash, so it was essentially untraceable.

She magnified and sharpened the image to as big as it would go and searched it for clues. Lucy was lying on her front, naked breasts pressed against her floral bedding.

“Who has an afternoon nap naked?” She said aloud. Miles turned and looked at her.

“Some people can’t sleep unless they are naked. I know I can’t.”

“Um… gross! And that’s not true at all, you slept through half of our sensitivity training seminar!”

“You were awake! What’s your excuse?”

“I’m lovely Miley, just remember that.” She said as something caught her eye in the picture. She zoomed in a little. “How much do you want to bet that your friend is a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic?”

“What have you found?”

She zoomed out a little, Miles stood behind her and looked down at the picture.

“What am I looking for?”

“Can you see the reflection in the TV screen?

“Yeah? Is there someone there? Who is it?”

“I told you, didn’t I Miley?” She pointed at the reflection.

There was no one else there, it was just Lucy, with her arm at such an angle that it was out of the shot. A selfie. At that moment Miles phone rang. It was her.

“Put it on speaker.” Imogen said, he did.

Lucy was sobbing into the phone.

“Adrian you have to come! He’s dead! Please come now!”

“Calm down Lucy. Who is dead?”

“Oh my God! There’s blood everywhere, please hurry!” She was frantic. The phone rang off.

So what did you think, gripping isn’t it? Check out the poster below to follow the rest of the websites for the concluding part.
