Date With Destiny By Lucy Vine
‘Date With Destiny’ is the latest book by Lucy Vine.
Ginny is about to turn 32. It’s a year she’s been thinking about for a long time. Sixteen years ago she crossed paths with a psychic who made some key predictions about her thirty-second year. Three bad things: A heartbreak, a loss of independence, and a death. Three good things: A life-changing trip, reconnecting with someone, and meeting her soulmate. The issue is that Ginny is due to get married in a month… but it’s all nonsense, obviously. But when some of those pesky predictions start coming true she starts to wonder what might happen next…
I love Lucy’s books, they’re witty, romantic and the characters that are both relatable and fun and ‘Date With Destiny’ is just as entertaining.
The story is seen primarily from the perspective of Ginny, who thought she had found her soulmate in Daniel only for him to cancel the wedding and disappear from her life. Her friends are convinced that this disasterous turn of events is connected to the fortune teller who predicted all of these events would take place in her 32nd year.
So as Ginny’s life begins to turn upside down, what she initally thought of her nonsense she begins to wonder especially when the wonderfully handsome Zach Walliams comes to work with her and when new adventures and opportunities appear on the horizon, Ginny begins to reevaluate the life that she thought she was happy with.
I loved this story, it was so easy to sink into with the fun plotline and the array of characters, from Celeste; Ginny’s outgoing and famous mother and her best friends Myfanwy and Sonali who are her cheerleaders and there to support in whichever they can.
Fun, vibrant and deliciously feisty, ‘Date With Destiny’ is the perfect romantic comedy to curl up with.
