Maddy’s Wedding Cake By Giovanna Fletcher
As part of the book blog tour for the release of Giovanna Fletcheer’s new book, ‘You’re The One That I Want’, Giovanna describes Maddy’s wedding cake.
Following on from the theme of the venue, the cake would reflect Maddy and Robert and the sparks they first felt after a day of climbing trees when they were younger. The three-tied beauty would have tree branches climbing up it’s grass-like exterior, with delicate multi-coloured leaves (fear not, they’d be edible) splayed all over them elegantly.

[/amazon_link]Instead of the bride and groom being plonked (in miniature) randomly at the top of the cake, there’d be another tree positioned – in real model-like form – and that’s where the bride and groom would be found – gaily swinging from it’s branches.
But, let’s not forget the most important part of the cake – the flavours! Each tier would be different, allowing for a variety of choice when it would eventually be cut up later in the night and served to guests. The three flavours would be traditional sponge with jam and cream filling, a boozy fruitcake, and (the best in my opinion) a brownie-like chocolate sponge, filled with creamy hazelnut spread… Something for everyone. It would not only look good, but the tastes would be heavenly.
