Baby Be Mine by Paige Toon
“Baby Be Mine”, is the fifth novel from Paige Toon and continues on with the turbulent relationship of Meg and her rockstar ex boyfriend, the sexy Johnny Jefferson
Meg has left the glitz and glamourous lifestyle of LA and has retired to the South of France, with her boyfriend Christian and their little boy Barney.
Meg’s life is perfect as she lives with her doting boyfriend and adorable little boy. But Meg harbours a terrible secret and is terrified that the truth will come out and her perfect life will fall to pieces around her. As each day passes and Barney gets older, he begins to look less and less like Christian but more like his real father, Johnny Jefferson.
Meg can only keep Barney’s true identity a secret for so long, as Johnny is constantly in the headlines for his wild boy of rock behaviour. Soon people will make the connection as Barney gets older and more like Johnny and lot less like Christian.
Oooh this was an addictive read, I loved “Johnny Be Good” which was the start of the relationship between Meg and Johnny, so it was great to see them make a welcome return. As per “Johnny Be Good” Johnny lived up to being his sexy self, whilst playing the mature grown adult wanting to take on his new found responsibility. This book was a delightful read, filled with fun loving characters and a particularly sexy lead. It’s nice to see that Meg has a grown a lot since “Johnny Be Good” she’s become independent and strong, that’s maybe because she is preparing for her world to come tumbling down around her and her love for Barney is evident with each page turned. Another one of the things I enjoy most about Paige Toon is her style of writing, it’s simple and laid back, that makes the reader feel they could easily finish the book in one sitting.
“Baby Be Mine” is a delightful read filled with colourful characters as we join Meg on her journey to find her happy ever after and keep the ones she loves safe from the glare of the paparazzi.
