Getting Over Mr Right by Chrissie Manby

When I initially discovered that this book was about Facebook, I was a bit disheartened after having just finished one about the popular social network, but I quickly got over that feeling as I dived straight into the latest book by popular author Chrissie Manby.

Ashleigh’s boyfriend dumps her publicly on Facebook after two years together, she is distraught at the sudden ending of the relationship as she is convinced that Michael is ‘the one’. With hilarious results she embarks on the various stages of the relationship, denial and anger as she tries to win Michael back.

I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this book. I loved Ashleigh as a character and worryingly enough, saw certain elements of myself in her! The scenes with Ashleigh and her much younger brother Lucas are particularly entertaining. This book evoked so many emotions in me, I lost track of the amount of times I laughed out loud and even cried.

“Getting Over Mr Right” is a fabulous read and just goes to show, that there is light at the end of the tunnel when a relationship takes an unexpected turn of direction.
