Fear the Worst By Linwood Barclay

I thought this was the best of three books by American author Linwood Barclay. A story about Tim Blake, who’s daughter Sydney disappears from her hotel job one day without a trace. When Tim confronts the hotel about the disappearance, he finds no-one there has heard of her. After this discovery, Tim has to embark on a journey to find Syndey. Along the way, he discovers that didn’t really know his daughter at all and he is not the only person looking for her.

This is a great book, Linwood is brilliant at creating an atmosphere and the tension is rife in the book from start to finish. Every character in the book is likeable, particularly the scenes with Tim and his ex-wife’s partner Bob made me laugh out loud, which is a bit of a surprise in such a serious story.
