‘The Wedding Diaries’ is the first book that I have read by Sam Binnie and like the author herself who I recently met at a Avon event, I found it to be entertaining, warm-hearted and I thoroughly enjoyed having the book in my company. Right from the start I absolutely adored Kiki. I loved her scattiness in life but her organised chaos in wedding planning as she compiled numerous lists wanting to create her dream wedding, but gradually turning herself into Bridezilla as her lists grew longer and more extravagant. Written in the style of diary, the story was seen from Kiki’s perspective as she struggled to deal with her own feelings and pressures as the big day looms closer and the credit bills grew bigger.

With regular scenes of laughter and packed with vibrant characters such as Susie, Kiki’s older sister who suddenly becomes pregnant just before the wedding, Thom the incredibly sweet and romantic fiancé and Jackie, the celebrity who, Kiki is helping write her own wedding book, a brash and outspoken lady with a heart of gold. I loved ‘The Wedding Diaries’, I thought it was a fresh and witty story that had me giggling throughout and with the added bonus of incredibly useful and quirky wedding tips and the inclusion of wedding scenes from such classics as ‘Emma’ and ‘Gone With The Wind’, this enchanting tale will will have you reading and smiling into the small hours.
