  1. Hi Melissa, to the readers of the blog that may not be familiar with you or your writing, can tell us a bit about yourself and how you got into writing
My first novel ‘Something You Should Know’ was published in 2003. It was my first attempt at writing after deciding to give it a try the year before, and luckily I managed to get it accepted for publication. Since then, I’ve written thirteen books which are published worldwide and in twenty-five different languages, and one of them has been optioned for a movie by a major Hollywood studio (sadly I’m not yet allowed to say which one!)
  2. Your new book is called ‘A Gift to Remember’, what are your favourite and least favourite gifts of all time?
Favourite gift is my Tiffany’s charm bracelet which inspired my most successful novel, ‘Something From Tiffany’s. I don’t have a least favourite as any gift at all is gladly appreciated!
  3. Who is your favourite literary hero/heroine?
People tend to find this strange for a romance writer, but it has to be Hannibal Lecter from Thomas Harris’s ‘The Silence Of The Lambs’. For me, he is the most compelling character to ever appear on the page.
  4. What is your favourite book of all time?
‘The Stand’ by Stephen King. I’ve read it multiple times and every time I read it I find something new and wonderful about a character or the plot that I hadn’t noticed before.
  5. If you were stranded on a desert island, what three books would you take with you to occupy your time?
‘The Stand’ by Stephen King. The entire ‘Sweet Valley High’ series and the book I’m working on now so I could have all the time in the world to edit/rewrite it!
