[amazon_link id=”0751561363″ target=”_blank” ]A Christmas Kiss[/amazon_link]The original ‘Geordie Shore’ girl, Vicky Pattison is back with a second book this year called ‘A Christmas Kiss’.

Just like her debut novel, ‘All That Glitters’, ‘A Christmas Kiss’, it’s another entertaining story with short and snappy chapters that made the book impossible to put down.

Amber Raey is working all the hours God sends as assistant to one of the country’s top fashion designers, and her boss is a complete nightmare. Amber’s dream is to launch her own fashion line one day so, for the time being, she just has to grin and bear it. And then opportunity comes knocking and Amber’s suddenly on the fast track to the top.

The parties, the glamour, a whirlwind romance – Amber loves every second of her new life. But there’s more to this world than its glossy exterior suggests, and when a face from Amber’s past reappears, she finds herself in real trouble. With Christmas fast approaching, Amber is drifting further and further away from her family and friends. Can she get her life back on track before it’s too late for a merry Christmas?

The story is about Amber Raey, an ambitious young woman who gets the opportunity of a lifetime, when she is spotted by Alessandro Rossi, head designer and owner at House Of Rossi, hating her current job as a lapdog for nasty Diana, Amber jumps at the chance to show her potential and more importantly, her creativity. Alessandro gives Amber, full rein of a young adult range which is then showcased at New York Fashion Week and Amber’s world is then turned upside down, when the public and press fall in love with the collection and she becomes the new face to look out for. But, it’s not only the media that has noticed Amber, Brandon Bailey from a band called The Starks, has also noticed the Northern lass and begins to pursuit her. Caught up in the whirlwind of fashion, a handsome and famous boyfriend, Amber finds herself in surprising and unexpected situations that makes her question those around her.

Whilst reading this book, I was very much aware of the similarities between Amber and Vicky. I am fan of ‘Geordie Shore’ and particularly love Vicky and her outspokenness and I found Amber to be the exact same, with her sharp tongue and original dialogue, this book regularly had me in stitches, as Amber shared some of her thoughts along the way and introduced me to the Newcastle way of talking. I genuinely loved Amber, I thought she was a strong and determined young woman, who’s only fault was that she fell in love and somewhere along the line, she forgot what was important. Family and friends. Family is a huge thing for Amber, as her father was tragically killed in an accident and this brought her mother and younger sister Ruby much closer together and her best friends and flat mates Jess and Tom are always there to help and have a party when you’re feeling down.

The story flows at a quick pace and is easy to get into, with punchy and witty dialogue and pleasurable characters, both young and old, this book really made for enjoyable reading and I found no matter how I tried, it constantly felt like Vicky was reading the story to me, as Amber was also from Newcastle. Fun, fashionable and full of sass, ‘A Christmas Kiss’ is another delicious book from Vicky and even though, this is only her second book, she has quickly become one of my favourite authors. Congratulations to Vicky on another great book and her recent win on ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out a Of Here!’
