“A Message To Your Heart” is the fifth book by Irish author, Niamh Greene.

Work obsessed Frankie is far to busy to spend time with family and friends. It seems that her strongest relationship is with her phone. So when she loses the phone on an important work trip to San Francisco, it’s hard for Frankie not to panic.

Her only option is to hire a phone. Even though it makes and receives calls, it’s not the same as her old phone. And then when she starts to receive strange messages on the phone intended for someone called Aimee, she wonders what is going on.

As she receives more messages, she begins to think that this Aimee character sounds like fun but why is her family texting Frankie. It’s bad enough that she lost her phone but now she has to share her new one.

As Frankie grows frustrated with the strange messages and decides to figure out who Aimee person is, she soon discovers that how much your life can be changed just by losing a phone.

“A Message To Your Heart” is only the second book that I have read by Niamh Greene and it was a joy to read from the start to finish.

With a beautifully illustrated cover, of a girl hopping onto a San Francisco tram with the Golden Gate bridge in the background, this book would not be hard to spot on the bookshelves.

Hilariously written with flamboyant and unique characters, Niamh has achieved a funny but realistic spin on the sad times of the current economic climate and the loss of losing someone and this is not an easy thing to achieve.

Entertaining and witty, this book had me smiling throughout with funny characters and situations. One particular character that I enjoyed was the warm-hearted Rosie, who befriends Frankie on the flight to San Francisco and kindly takes Frankie under her wing and acting as a tour guide, she shows Frankie around the city. With her kind heart and quirky catchphrases, it’s hard not to smile at this character.

“A Message To Your Heart” is a wonderfully written page turner with a uniquely interesting plot that will have you enchanted from the very first page.
