When Kendall’s need for success consumes her, she won’t let anyone stand in her way. Whilst Ava is a innocent Yorkshire girl plucked from obscurity and thrown into the world of fame. When she is pitted against Kendall, the world watches wondering which one of them will survive.
As three women fight for survival and navigate through the world of backstabbing fortune and greed, will they be tempted to betray the people they hold dearest.
I have read quite a few of Tilly’s books and have enjoyed them all, so when I received a copy of “Friends and Rivals”, I was quite eager to delve into the sordid and competitive world of the music industry.
Like her previous books, “Friends and Rivals” is packed with strong women all fighting for survival and all competing to be on top. Although all the characters were quite wonderful in their own rights, I did find myself harbouring a soft spot for Cat as she is suddenly alone and wondering what she is doing with her life, I loved her vulnerability and passionate love for her children. Having read most of Tilly’s books, I always found her books to be quite racy and sexy but I found “Friends and Rivals” to be quite tame in comparison, maybe it was just because I had finished, Rebecca Chance’s “Bad Angels”, but where the story lacked in sex scenes it certainly made up in, with quick and snappy dialogue, interesting characters and strong and enjoyable plot that had me hooked from page one.
“Friends and Rivals” is the perfect escapism read filled with lust and glamour, it’s packed with revelations and shocks that make for perfect poolside reading.
