Girl in the Mirror by Ceclia Ahern

Girl in the Mirror, is a beautifully designed short story book written by best selling Irish author Ceclia Ahern.

The book has two stories in it called Girl in the Mirror, which is about Lila who lives with her blind grandmother in a large house, where her grandmother has all the mirrors covered up with black sheets so no reflections are shown, which is strange considering her grandmother is blind. Things seem to be going great for Lila as she prepares to marry the man of her dreams but things don’t work out as she planned when she unveils one of the mirrors.

The second story The Memory Maker, tells the story of the reclusive man who has created a machine that can create new memories to replace the unhappy ones. This is easier said than done, when the creator of the machine is unable to move on from his first love and his memories begin to fade and he will do everything he can to hold onto them.

Both stories are particularly unique in their plots, and with both accompanied with illustrations throughout the book, makes it an more enjoyable read.
