It Only Takes A Minute By Sasha Lane
‘It Only Takes A Minute’ is the latest novella by Sasha Lane.
What if you could live in a different country for four weeks? What if you could live a different life for four weeks? That’s what this was supposed to be. Four weeks of sun, sea, and cocktails. I wasn’t supposed to fall in love. Do I go back to my old life, or risk starting a brand new one? Does that really happen in real life, or just in the movies? Life can change in an instant though. After all, it only takes a minute.
If you enjoy reading but don’t have a lot of time, then I wholeheartedly recommend this novella by Sasha Lane.
It’s seen from the perspective of Keira who surprises everyone when her relationship breaks up and goes on a month long holiday to Portugal. It’s there that she steps out of her comfort zone and meets Dylan, who shows her a new side of life.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, it’s fresh and fun and Kiera is a relatable protagonist. After years of going with the flow, Dylan introduces her to life at a faster pace with boat trips, daring road trips as well as delicious food. I really liked Kiera and her spontaneity, I wasn’t all that keen on her best friend Gemma, who was the voice of doubt and negativity in the story and occasionally seemed jealous of Kiera’s adventures.
Fun and packed with warmth, ‘It Only Takes A Minute’ is the perfect poolside read offering a fresh outlook on life. But be warned, it may be a short story, you’ll have the song stuck in your head much longer than a minute!
