After initially reading Tess’s first book ‘The Camera Never Lies’, I was pleasantly surprised that the TV presenter had written quite an entertaining and addictive tale. So when ‘It’s Up To You New York’ was announced I was quite excited, as the synopsis made the story sound like an equally thrilling story.

Seen through the eyes of Holly, she is a quiet, naive girl who is oblivious to how beautiful she is, unaware of the admiring glances she receives from men and women. She sails through life, unhappy in her job and with a boyfriend who is more committed to his job than their relationship, she wonders if there is something better on offer and luck seems to be on her side as she is selected for reality television show ‘Street Scout’, where girls battle to win a chance to be on the books of successful modelling agency, Strut.

I loved ‘It’s Up To You New York’, I thought it had quite a juicy storyline, that had my full attention. Set in the industry of modelling and celebrities, I thought it gave a wonderful insight into the business, with catty behaviour, divas and demands, I did find myself regularly wondering how much of the story was based on fact and what was based on fiction.

Written in fresh style that immediately made for easy reading and filled with vibrant, interesting characters, set in the bustling city of New York, where image is everything, ‘It’s Up To You New York’ is a glitzy and glamorous and impossibly captivating story of bitchiness, betrayal and fashion.
