Mini Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella
Mini Shopaholic is the latest installment of the Shopaholic series by successful author Sophie Kinsella. It follows on with shopaholic Becky Brandon and her husband and young daughter, Minnie the toddler. The story is simple, the recession has hit and Becky’s job as an Personal Stylist comes under threat until she comes up with a master plan to keep her customers. As well as trying to keep her job, she has to deal with Minnie who’s favourite word is “Mine” and has recently discovered ebay. To try to perk everyone up in the current economic crisis, she decides to throw a surprise party for Luke on a budget.
As a lover of the Shopaholic series, I was delighted to see the latest installment, to see what the latest shenanigans Becky would be up to but to be honest I was quite disappointed in it. The characters didn’t seem as strong as in the previous novels, and the ending was very abrupt and didn’t seem to suit the book.
Mini Shopaholic at the start had the potential to be a great story but failed to deliver, a first time for popular author Sophie Kinsella, who is the author of one of my favourite books of all times “Can you Keep a Secret”
