Seven Exes By Lucy Vine

Seven Exes‘Seven Exes’ is the latest book by Lucy Vine.

Esther is out with her two friends, bemoaning her lack of relationship, when she finds a magazine from the noughties. Seeking comfort – and a laugh – she turns to the dating advice only to find an article that feels a little too close to home. According to the journalist, there are seven people a woman will date before finding the one: The First Love, The Work Mistake, The Friend with Benefits, The Overlap, The Missed Chance, The Bastard and The Serious One. Her friends laugh but Esther realises each of her exes fits these roles perfectly. Deciding that she’s mistaken her true love in the reject pile she decides to contact each of her exes to find out which is the one that got away.

Lucy Vine is back with another fun rollercoaster of a story about love, life and relationships.

With her 30th birthday looming, Esther is sad that everyone has a special someone, whilst she’s still going on first dates and getting nowhere. It’s only that she spots a magazine article about the seven relationships in life that she decides to reconnect with them to see if any of them were ‘the one’

As she delves into heartbreaks and lost loves, Esther really looks at how life has turned out and the impact that each relationship left on her life.

This story is packed with comedy gold one liners and witty situations that made for entertaining and relatable reading, I loved Esther, she’s opinionated and smart and her housemates and their interactions really made me chuckle. Bibi and Louise are great friends, I loved Louise’s whimsical way of carrying on whilst Bibi takes no victims and was always the first person to speak up in situations.

Deliciously fun and uplifting but also concentrating on issues such as gaslighting and toxic relationships, ‘Seven Exes’ is a perfect journey down memory lane, filled with nostalgia and hope, we join Esther as she hopes for second chances with ‘the one’ and discovers more about herself along the way. Perfect for fans of Lindsey Kelk and Mhairi McFarlane.

You can buy ‘Seven Exes’ from Amazon and is available to buy from good bookshops.
