This is a deliciously warmhearted and tender book that had many emotions cursing through my body whilst reading it. From poignant moments of honesty and forgiveness to rejoice at reconciliation, this book was a delight from start to finish.

When Andrea is diagnosed with terminal cancer, she stubbornly decides not to tell her daughters. She’s wants nothing more than her two girls to reconcile after years of not talking, so with the help of her best friend, Lewis, she create the A – Z of everything. Using the power of guilt and the alphabet, she gets Rose and Poppy together to reminisce on old times as well as try to lay ghosts to rest.

At the start, the story was initially past and present tense, the sisters together, how close they were up until the moment everything went wrong.

It’s not often that I like every character in a book, but all the characters in this story are entertaining and engaging. Both Rose and Poppy’s lives haven’t turned out they wanted, Rose wanted to be a scientist and instead she’s a classroom assistant, eating everything in sight and Poppy wanted to write the next big novel but instead she’s in marketing for a pet company. Their both desperately unhappy with their lives and would have loved nothing more than to have seen their dying mother and apologise for the hurt they put her through.

Andrea is a fabulous character, eccentric with a love of drama, she adds an injection of humour to this tale and delivers each letter and story with the wit and consideration it deserves.

Beautifully written with really lovely characters, ‘The A – Z Of Everything’ is a captivating story about love and forgiveness that will have you reaching for the tissues.
