Two Weddings And A Baby By Scarlett Bailey

[amazon_link id=”0091953553″ target=”_blank” ]Two Weddings and A Baby[/amazon_link]’Two Weddings And A Baby’ is Scarlett Bailey’s first non festive book.

Tasmyn appears to have it all. A lush apartment in Paris, a job working at the best design agency and a hot boyfriend – albeit a secret one.

But after five years away she’s back to her quiet hometown to celebrate her brother’s wedding. Cue a flood, the discovery of a mystery newborn and the impossible task of rustling up a wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses in only a few days. And then there’s Jed Edwards, the attractive priest, whom she can’t help but keep running into. Suddenly Poldore is looking a lot more appealing than her glamorous life in Paris. But will she have enough faith to risk it all on someone she just met?

‘Two Weddings And Baby’ is a charming book and sees author, Scarlett return to Poldore, as her leading lady Tamsyn Thorne ventures home from her busy job in Paris for her brothers wedding. Tamsyn is the sister of Ruan Thorne, who appeared in Scarlett’s previous book ‘Just For Christmas’ where Ruan and his bride-to-be, Alex meet for the first time.

Dreading returning home after an argument with Ruan years ago, Tamsyn comes back with the intention to make amends, but all her good intentions are thrown into chaos when Tamsyn meets the hunky local vicar Jed and a torrential storm hits the small fishing village and all the villagers come together to help each other out with the damage. But it’s not only, damage that the storm has caused but Tamsyn rescued a baby on that fateful night and becomes its sole carer until the mother is found. Tamsyn never thought she was a broody woman and always backed away from her crazy nephews, but it seems that little ‘Mo’ as Tamsyn has come to call the baby, has made Tamsyn have a new look on life and finds herself discovering a new sensitivity about herself.

This book is a heartwarming and delightful story that I thoroughly enjoyed. With a cast of fun characters, particularly Tamsyn, a passionate and fun character. We see her develop from quite an independent character with an eye for a fashion and a deep regret for for leaving her family on bad terms, come to the Poldore hoping to make amends and to put old ghosts to rest whilst helping the villagers recover from the storm. Casting her love of fashion aside for a moment, we see a softer, caring side to the character, as she discovers new maternal feelings for the baby and a desire to make Alex’s wedding day perfect.

Filled with funny characters and scenes, ‘Two Weddings And A Baby’ is a lovely return from Scarlett and is thoroughly the perfect summer book even if it somewhat rainy!
