Now, to make Great Aunt Edie’s Famous Apple Sauce, you need the following ingredients:

Makes
8–10 portions

Ingredients
• 225g cooking apples, peeled, cored and chopped
• 2 tbsp water
• 15g butter
• Zest of half a lemon
• 1 tsp caster sugar

“Done”Method
• Put the apples in a saucepan with the lemon zest and water.
• Cover and cook over a low heat until they are soft and mushy.
• Take off the heat and beat in the butter and the sugar.
• Cool.
