Jenny Colgan Releases First Children’s Book – Polly And The Puffin
Fabulous news, if like myself you fell for the adorably sweet Neil the puffin from Jenny Colgan’s latest book ‘Little Beach Street Bakery’ as it has been revealed that Jenny is going publish her first children’s book called ‘Polly and the Puffin’ purely from the people’s reaction to the creature in her book.
The illustrated chapter book for readers aged 5+, is about Neil the puffin, who is such an inquisitive and charming animal that we all immediately fell in love with. ‘Polly and the Puffin’ tells the story of Neil the puffin, rescued when he injures his wing.
Jenny said “She wrote the book after an overwhelming response from readers to the character of Neil and added that it was a “joy†to write him into a book of his own”.
The title is illustrated by Thomas Docherty, represented by Penny Holroyde of the Caroline Sheldon Literary Agency, and will hit the shelves in February 2015.
I can see myself sneaking into the children’s section of my local bookshop in February! And I’m the owner of a newly acquired cuddly puffin called Neil, my husband and children just roll their eyes when I talk about Neil.
