Mills & Boon Release Reader App

There’s been an interesting shift in the publishing industry with the recent news that leading romantic fiction publisher, Mills & Boon announcing that they are releasing their very own reading app.

The ebook market is currently dominated by giant superstores such as Amazon with the Kindle and Apple’s iBooks which is available across many of Apple’s devices, who all take a share of each book that is downloaded.

Mills & Boon have created their own app reader to streamline from publisher to reader, therefore cutting out the middle man with the intention of an increase in the number of people reading ebooks on their smartphones and tablets as opposed to dedicated reader devices.

With Mills & Boon being the first publisher to come up with this idea, it will be interesting to see if the concept is successful and whether other publishers will follow suit.
