No Alibis Present An Evening With Paula Hawkins And SJ Watson
Belfast crime noir bookshop No Alibis, recently presented an author evening with Transworld Books and the publishers brought over two of their biggest selling authors, Paula Hawkins and SJ Watson for an exclusive Q&A.
Paula Hawkins talked about the success of her debut book ‘The Girl On The Train’ which is currently number one, she revealed that Dreamworks have bought the movie rights but no director has been lined up and her first writing attempt was female fiction that went to the dark side.
SJ Watson also revealed that people are surprised that he is a man as both his books have been written through the narrative of a woman and that he was delighted with the cast chosen for the film adaptation of his bestselling debut ‘Before I Go To Sleep’
Both authors were entertaining and witty with their answers and this event was the first time I ever asked a question. I asked Paula, if ‘The Girl On The Train’ was to be adapted for film who would she imagine would play the role of Rachel and she admitted that she would love Cary Mulligan to play her but she might be too young for the role.
A huge thank you to No Alibis for hosting another great event and to Alison Barrow for arranging it.
