RTE Guide/Penguin Ireland Short Story Competition 2015

Penguin Ireland Short Story CompetitionSharpen your pencils and start thinking of ideas as the annual RTE Guide/Penguin Ireland Short Story competition has been announced.

All shortlisted writers will be invited to a unique day-long writing workshop at Pearse Street Library in Dublin in early September, where a number of established writers, including Emma Hooper (musician, short story writer and debutante novelist), Karen Perry (actually two writers, Karen Gillece and Paul Perry, whose second novel, Only We Know is due in June) and the best- selling Sinéad Moriarty (The Secrets Sisters Keep).

Entries for the RTÉ Guide/Penguin Ireland short story Competition 2015 should be original, unpublished and previously not broadcast short stories in English, of 2,000 words or less. Paper manuscripts must be typed and cannot be returned. Entrant’s name and contact details (address, phone and/or email) should be on a separate page. There is no fee for entering the competition but only one entry is allowed per person. The deadline for this year’s competition is 6pm, Friday, June 5, 2015.
