Lindsey Kelk Reveals New Book – Incase You Missed It

Incase You Missed It‘In the midst of a pandemic, we have a new book from Lindsey Kelk to help us get through the dark times called ‘Incase You Missed It’.

What the back cover says –

When Ros steps off a plane after four years away she’s in need of a job, a flat and a phone that actually works. And, possibly, her old life back. Because everyone at home has moved on, her parents have reignited their sex life, she’s sleeping in a converted shed and she’s got a bad case of nostalgia for the way things were.

Then her new phone begins to ping with messages from people she thought were deleted for good. Including one number she knows off by heart: her ex’s.

Sometimes we’d all like the chance to see what we’ve been missing…

I can’t wait for this to hit the top of the TBR pile.

You can pre-order ‘Incase You Missed It’ from Amazon and will be available to buy from good bookshops from 23rd July 2020.

I Heart Hawaii By Lindsey Kelk

I Heart HawaiiSad times for Lindsey Kelk’s as ‘I Heart Hawaii’ is the eighth and final book in the ‘I Heart’ series.

When Angela Clark’s best friend Jenny invites her to join a press trip to Hawaii, three days of sun, sea and sleep sounds like the perfect antidote to her crazed life. At work in New York, she’s supposed to be the face of Having It All. But the only thing Angela feels she excels at is hiding in the printer cupboard, eating Mini Cheddars and watching Netflix on her phone and if this is living the dream, she’s more than ready to wake up. A few days away with Jenny sounds like exactly what she needs but Angela’s talent for getting into a scrape guarantees nothing goes to plan – and not even the most beautiful beaches, blue skies and daiquiris will get her off the hook.

It’s fair to say that Lindsey Kelk has delivered the final ‘I Heart’ book in the series with a bang.

With a rather unsettling start that leaves the reader on their toes, the story flashes back to a year earlier when Angela is about to start her new job, after having her baby Alice with rockstar husband Alex. She’s trying to cram everything into her life, but as per usual nothing is ever straightforward for her and she finds herself on a work trip to Hawaii with some of her best friends. This is the perfect time to relax, catch up with friends but instead she finds caught up in drama involving losing numerous phones, dealing with being away from Alex and Alice as well as questioning her own path in life. All these scenarios are delivered Lindsey’s trademark wit and sass that really does make for fun reading, but there is also some lovely poignant moments as Angela reflects on life as being mother and the fears that she has along the way.

I was a bit late coming to the ‘I Heart’ series but I have to say that it was one of the best book series that I’ve had to enjoy over the years. Angela has always had my heart, she’s fun, confident and a woman I aspire to be. She manages to get herself into some entertaining and outrageous situations that always made for fun reading as well as being the best friend that any person could ask for. Lindsey has an unique voice when it comes to writing, with funny phrases and scenarios that always manage to grip my attention, so much so with this book as I read it one day!

What was particularly nice about ‘I Heart Hawaii’ was the addition of Billy Buskins from Giovanna Fletcher’s books as well as Johnny Jefferson from Paige Toon’s stories, as all three women are good friends and would book tour together.

Deliciously funny and riddled with social media, high maintenance mothers and a picturesque location, Lindsey has delivered the final book beautifully, it has the humour, the glamour and the drama that we have all come to love, but it also has an element of sadness to it as she closes the final chapter on Angela’s life which does make for bittersweet reading. Can’t wait to see what’s next for Lindsey!

You can pre-order ‘I Heart Hawaii’ from Amazon and will be available to buy from good bookshops from May 30th 2019.

One In A Million By Lindsey Kelk

One In A Million‘One In A Million’ is the latest book by Lindsey Kelk.

Annie Higgins has 30 days to make Sam famous. But when the time’s up, will she choose followers and likes – or real relationships and love? Tired of the advertising idiots across the hallway making fun of her business, social media specialist Annie Higgins (iPhone in one hand, glass of wine in the other) accepts a bet that she can make anyone famous in thirty days. Even when the advertising idiots choose the office weirdo, Sam, as her target, she’s determined to win – whether he likes it or not.Annie soon discovers that getting to know Sam means getting to know more about herself – and before the thirty days are out, has a difficult decision to make about what’s really important.

One In A Million is the hilarious new book from Lindsey Kelk and this book had me hooked right from the start, with a fantastic lead, witty one liners and awkward situations, it’s no wonder I read the first 200 pages in one sitting.

The book is seen solely through the hilarious eyes of Annie Higgins, a successful woman with an award nominated company at her fingertips. Fluent in all things social media, she handles big clients and is always able to send out the correct message. Until, one day she is challenged about her job, she rises to the challenge and claims that she is able to get someone 20,000 Followers on Instagram in one month. The lucky victim is Dr Samuel Page, a man with wise head who has no interest in social media and prefers to reading about famous historical figures or working on his upcoming novel. He’s no desire to get involved in Annie’s project until she promises that she will be able to help him win back his ex-girlfriend. Suddenly, he has a reason to get involved and reluctantly agrees to the challenge, which sees them embark on a strange new friendship and hilarious and honest results.

I absolutely adored this book, but that’s to become expected when you are a fan of Lindsey Kelk. Her books are delivered with wit and drama that really keeps the reader engaged and her latest book was no different. I loved Annie, she’s funny, kind and has a frank and honest approach to life, determined to prove just how good she is at her job, she delivers with amazing results. I also developed a bit of a crush on Sam, who is the reluctant hero in the story. Like Annie, he’s straight forward but with a touch of innocence about him that does him very endearing to the reader. Not only are main characters of the story, wonderfully entertaining but so are their friends, which had me chuckling throughout.

Filled with plenty of laugh out loud moments, the book is really on trend with the power of social media, as well women having to prove their places in male dominated industries, which I found particularly insightful as it’s an industry that I also work in. A fabulously aspirational story that was impossible to put down, ‘One In A Million’ is a warm and entertaining story that is the perfect distraction from real life.

You can pre-order One in a Million from Amazon and will be available to buy from good bookshops from 26th July 2018.
