Beth is back with another fun and uplifting story set in a failing hotel. Izzy and Lucas both work in Forest Manor Hotel and both love their jobs as receptionists, unfortunately, they don’t love each other. Or, do they? The pair have a fiery and competitive relationship getting under each other’s toes but when the hotel is in trouble and their jobs are at stake, they have to work together to help it from going under and find the owners of the missing weddings.

I love Beth’s stories, they’re like a hug, warm and welcoming with relatable and fun characters and a storyline that flows along at a lovely pace and this book is no different.

Both characters are great, Izzy is a free spirited woman who’s eager to please everyone whilst Lucas is a fiery Brazilian that likes organisation whilst Izzy is little bit more chaotic. The pair are constantly clashing but underneath it all, there’s chemistry brewing between the pair and it’s fun to see them try to fight whilst working together. I loved the setting of the hotel, a charismatic hotel that’s going under but it has a committed taskforce and loyal guests who are keen to rescue it. The inclusion of finding the owners of missing rings was also lovely, as it gave a sense of nostalgia and romance to the story.

Packed with drama, humour, romance and seeped with festive cheer, ‘The Wake-Up Call’ is another captivating story from Beth.
