Desire by Louise Bagshaw
Your wedding day is meant to be the happiest day of your life, but for Lisa Costello it is the beginning of a nightmare. After only being married for a couple of hours she catches her new husband Josh with one of the bridesmaids. Angered they fight and when she wakes up the following morning, to find Josh dead in the bed beside her and the murder weapon in her hand. Terrified she fleas the scene and immediately goes on the run.
FBI Agent turned celebrity reporter Sam Murray who attended the wedding and witnessed the fight, between the newlyweds is convinced Lisa is innocent and starts his quest to find her and get the scoop of the year whilst proving her innocence. When he finally finds her, neither of them expects to fall in love as they run from the police and for their lives as they try to uncover who was really behind the murder and tried to frame Lisa.
This book was quite an interesting read from Louise Bagshaw, it was very fast paced and gritty with very dark and menacing characters. With the characters on the run, the story was quite international and in a way made me envy their unfortunate but fortunate position to travel from country to country. I have always enjoyed books by Louise Bagshaw but there was something in particular about this novel that I found much more darker and addictive, there were less pretty characters where everyone has a dark side and past.
