Quiet, mousy Addie thinks she will be forever be friends with wild, outspoken Valerie until during their teenage years in an act of betrayal their friendship ended and Addie blended into the background and does so for the next fifteen years, staying in her parents house, painting cards and being close to her disabled brother John.

Meanwhile, Valerie is a successful weather girl and local celebrity. Then out of the blue on the night of their high school reunion, Valerie turns up on Addie’s step with blood on her coat and claiming she did something wrong and pleads for Addie’s help. Can Addie forgive and forget the past and help her ex best friend from possibly going to jail.

I have been a Jennifer Weiner fan for years, so I was eager to read this book and it did not disappoint in the slightest. Addie and Valerie were both wonderful characters and both so different in personality, Addie is so quiet and eager to please whereas Valerie is loud and bolshy and constantly looking for attention. Best Friends Forever is like a modern day Thelma and Louise, a story of the friendship and forgiveness and all about the girl power!
