Linger by Maggie Stiefvator

Linger book cover

Linger is the follow up to Shiver, the tale of Grace, a normal, quiet teenage girl and Sam a werewolf who has become fully human after they found a miracle cure.

Shiver continues on with the story of the young couple both adjusting to Sam suddenly human and now becoming responsible for the pack now that Beck, the leader has left and the introduction of new wolf Cole, a rebellious and dangerous character and also having to deal with Grace’s parents who have come to the conclusion that Sam is a bad influence, but all that is the least of their worries when Grace suddenly becomes ill after she and Isobel come into contact with a dead wolf.

As Grace rapidly becomes sicker and her parents forbidding her from seeing Sam, life becomes harder for the young couple as they try to figure out their future together.

I loved this book from start to finish. Maggie Stiefvator is a wonderful writer particularly at setting scenes, so everything is so vivid like you are really there with Grace and Sam, observing them from a distance. I could not flaw this book in the slightest, even though it is terribly sad. I am already looking forward to the final book in the trilogy, Forever.
