But not everyone is thrilled with Lottie and Ben’s rushed marriage and family and friends are determined to intervene. Will Lottie and Ben have a wedding night to remember or one to forget?
Whenever there is a new Sophie Kinsella book, there is always great excitement leading up to its impending release. For all us fans of the Shopaholic series, we wait with bated breath and then when ‘Wedding Night’ finally hits our bookshelves. We eagerly delve in, gobbling the book up in the shortest time possible and once we are finished giggling, laughing and smiling, we want to start it all over again!
I love Sophie Kinsella, ever since I read ‘Can You Keep a Secret?’ I fell in love with her vibrant, whimsical style of writing that always introduces a fresh voice and character that you can immediately relate and desperately want for her to find her happy ever after.
And with ‘Wedding Night’ there is no difference, again Sophie has created a wonderful lead character in the shape of bubbly and smart Lottie with her older, protective and cynical sister Fliss. Together the women make wonderful fun characters and in true Sophie style, nothing ever goes to plan as Fliss desperately tries to stop Lottie from getting married, whilst trying to keep her opinion that all men are rats to herself, resulting in hilarious results that will have you laughing throughout. The leading men are also a lovely addition with Richard and Lorcan with their quite brooding masculinity and Ben with his frivolous and impulsive way of life, there is man for every girl to fall for.
‘Wedding Night’ is an utterly fabulous book, that is impossible to put down. Funny, uplifting, this book is a breath of fresh air that is a welcome distraction from the mundane routine of life. Like her previous bestsellers, the story is written in Sophie’s fresh laid back style of writing, whether it is hilarious scenarios or vivid descriptions of the exotic Greek islands, it is hard not to fall in love with the characters and become completely embroiled in the story.
