You’re the One I Don’t Want by Alexander Potter

You’re the One I don’t Want, is the story about Lucy who meets her soulmate Nate whilst travelling in Venice. Hearing of an old Italian legend, she and him kiss underneath the Bridge of Sighs, at sunset to the sound of church bells, the legend was, that when they do this, they would be together forever. But once their travelling is over, Lucy travels home to Manchester and Nate returns to America. Both try to carry on with a long distance relationship, but then Nate phones one day and tells her he has met someone else.

Devastated Lucy carries on with her life but compares all the men she meets to Nate. Then she travels to New York and begins working in an art gallery where she suddenly runs into Nate, when he randomly purchases art from the gallery. Immediately they get together, thinking it will be exactly like it was in Venice ten years ago but its completely different and it doesn’t work out.

They decide to call it a day, but soon discover that they can’t seem to get away from each other. Lucy has to figure out how to finally get rid of Nate, now she has met Adam but discovers its not as simple as hitting delete on Facebook and maybe there is something much stronger keeping them together, maybe there is some truth in the Italian legend.

I loved this book, full of wonderful, likeable characters, another witty read from Alexander Potter.
